Adam S. Doyle creates beautiful paintings.
Oh, you wanted more? Well.
Doyle, does in fact make beautiful paintings – his images capture an almost painterly craft aspect. He strives to keep the footprint of the brush itself in his work – the brushstrokes adding depth, and showing the energy of the image itself. When i first saw his work, it reminded me of the art of Shodo – Japanese calligraphy. I love the flow and grace and seeming simplicity of Doyle’s images, yet as with Shodo, the control of, and the understanding of the paintbrush is apparent.
Doyle is obviously passionate about his art – you can feel the emotion in every piece, whether it’s a bird in flight, or the starkness of bones. He says, “My work always begins with a love for the magic of creation- the blank surface about to be transformed into a living thing or another world. This act has been with mankind forever and yet never ceases to be awe-inspiring.”
